Members Network

We are pleased to open bookings for our second Members Network meeting of 2024 on the 20th June focused on The Role of Youth Work in Implementing Contextual Safeguarding.

Contextual safeguarding is about keeping young people safe outside their homes, in other places where they spend time. At this meeting, you will have an opportunity to hear more about what contextual safeguarding is and why it’s important. North Lanarkshire Council will share how they have been implementing it in their local authority. There will then be a chance to have discussions in breakout rooms and to share what support you might need to implement contextual safeguarding in your practice.

The meeting will take place from 2-3.30pm using Zoom. For anyone unable to use Zoom, we will record the presentations which we will share after the meeting.

We do hope that your organisation can join us.

Please note this event is only open to YouthLink Scotland members. The Members Network is a direct members benefit and is normally restricted to the staff team of the member organisation only. However, we are not restricting numbers to one per organisation this time, to allow as many youth workers to attend as would like to.

Recording your Professional Learning

Participating in this network meeting can be recorded as 1.5 hours of Professional Learning time, which can contribute to the 35 hours per year (pro rata) required for membership of the CLD Standards Council, another professional body, or your own learning and development plan.

When recording your professional learning you may want to reflect on your development from this event in relation to the relevant CLD Competences and CLD Ethics.
