Do you work with young people aged 14-19 who would be interested in the following opportunity to take part in an online workshop for the Good Measure research project?

The online workshop will take place on 14th June (5pm to 7pm)) on Zoom or MS Teams and will last approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute break. Access to a laptop or tablet with internet connection is required to take part. All participants will be thanked for their time with a £30 voucher.

What is the Good Measure project about?
The Social and Public Health Sciences Unit at the Univerity of Glasgow want to understand what aspects of sex and sexuality young people feel are most important to their mental health and wellbeing.

Why is this project important?
Adolescent mental health surveys rarely include questions on sex and sexuality. However, there are many aspects of sex and sexuality that young people feel are important to their mental health and wellbeing. The Good Measure project aims to understand what aspects of sex and sexuality young people feel are most important to their mental health and wellbeing. They will use the findings from these workshops to help mental health survey researchers to ask survey questions that are relevant, important, and meaningful to young people.

What will the workshop involve?
They are currently looking for young people aged 14-19 to take part in a research agenda-setting workshop. In these workshops they want to hear young people’s views on what sex and sexuality related topics should be included in adolescent mental health survey research. The workshop will last approximately 2 hours with a 15-minute break. During the workshop participants will be invited to contribute to an online whiteboard where they will complete interactive activities exploring different gender, sex and sexuality related topics and their positive and negative impacts on mental health.
