We are delighted to announce that the Board of YouthLink Scotland is recruiting a new independent Chair to succeed Angela Leitch CBE, who stepped down in November 2025 after three years in post. Find out more and nominate a suitable candidate by 1st March.
A recruitment process is being undertaken by the YouthLink Scotland Board to find a successor to Angela Leitch CBE, our former Chair. Angela stepped down after three years as our chairperson in November 2025, and we are grateful for her leadership and guidance during her term of office.
At our AGM on 26th November 2025, Bill Stevenson was appointed as Interim Chairperson replacing Angela and we are thankful that he has taken on this extra responsibility on the board during this period of recruitment.
A sub-group of the Board has met to consider the recruitment process for Chair in line with our Memorandum and Articles of Association and we are seeking your help to nominate a new independent chair – that is someone not currently employed within the youth work sector but with the right skillset and sector fit for the next chapter of the organisation.
Check out the recruitment pack which includes the person specification and job role and nominate a suitable candidate using this form by close of play on 1st March.
This is a key appointment for YouthLink Scotland and our members, as we continue to play a key intermediary role for the sector, as your national agency for youth work. We will also be seeking to co-opt other board members to fill one to two vacancies on the Board during this period, so it is important we fill these positions with people who have a track record, an appropriate public profile and high standing and also an interest and a passion for what we do.
As a national charity this role is not remunerated, but expenses incurred in supporting the role will be covered.
