The Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) is excited to announce the opportunity for two Youth Engagement Workers to join their team.

The Scottish Youth Parliament has been commissioned by Police Scotland to carry out a programme of engagement with care experienced young people to make recommendations which will inform the next Police Scotland Corporate Parenting Plan.

Working within SYP’s youth-led structure, between June and December 2024, two Youth Engagement Workers (supported by the Participation and Programmes team) will design, deliver, and evaluate this engagement programme, presenting their findings and recommendations to Police Scotland.

Due to the nature of this work, they’re particularly interested in hearing from 16–26 year-old young people who have direct experience of care.

The application deadline is Thursday 30th May 2024 at 12pm.

Interviews and a short youth engagement activity or presentation will be held on 4th June 2024, either face to face at our office or via MS Teams. Successful candidates will be expected to start in the week commencing 10th June 2024.
