Girlguiding Scotland and Sustrans Join Forces on New Active Adventures Badge

By taking on the challenge, young people can explore the natural environment while getting the opportunity to learn essential skills such as the ‘M Check’, how to fix a puncture and how to plan a route.

The Active Adventures badge was designed collaboratively between Sustrans and Girlguiding Scotland with the shared values of supporting healthy, lifelong habits, protecting the environment and gender equality.

Girls need to see themselves represented in all outdoor pursuits, not just sports or fitness.

By taking on the challenge, young people can explore the natural environment while getting the opportunity to learn essential skills such as the ‘M Check’, how to fix a puncture and how to plan a route.

The brightly coloured badge features a teenage girl setting off on her scooter, ready for an adventure. It was designed to be eye-catching yet relatable. So far, 321 badges for Active Adventures have been sold in Girlguiding Scotland shops.

With spring in full bloom and summer just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get outside and learn new skills with the Active Adventures badge.
