Brand new digital youth work hub launched

We are delighted today to launch DigitalYouthWork.scot, a brand new online hub for youth workers in Scotland.

We are delighted today to launch DigitalYouthWork.scot, a brand new online hub for youth workers in Scotland, brimming with resources to help develop their digital youth work offer.

In the immediate aftermath of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, we received a 4000% increase in the number of inquiries for digital training from members.

To meet the increased demand, we drew on the greatest digital minds from across the sector to provide guidance on online youth work, delivering digital youth work training sessions to over 750 youth work delegates from late March to the end of June.

Now, with all the shared learning we have accumulated over the past few months, we’ve worked in partnership with Youth Scotland, Young Scot, LGBT Youth Scotland and YMCA Scotland to bring all the amazing resources we’ve found under one ‘roof’, ensuring that the essential support thousands of young Scots rely on can be delivered effectively and safely online.

On DigitalYouthWork.scot, you’ll find a huge array of toolkits, training events, tutorials, webinar recordings, guidance and more to help deliver youth work services online to the highest standards.

Guidance on platforms, safeguarding issues, cybersecurity and digital privacy are all covered in detail, while fun activities, wellbeing apps, podcasts and gaming opportunities are all signposted.

Whether you’re a completely new to the digital realm and need guidance on which platforms to use to safely connect with young people, or you’re looking for new cyber school activities to help develop young people’s skills – DigitalYouthWork.scot caters for all levels of digital engagement.
