Ocean Generation Opportunities for Young People

Ocean Generation is all about empowering an inclusive global movement to tackle Ocean threats through Science and Storytelling. Find out more about their Wavemakers programme (for 16-25 year-olds) and Ocean Academy programme (for 5-16 year-olds).

Ocean Generation’s Wavemakers programme, which is for 16-25 year-olds, aims to empower them to make a difference to our Ocean using their own skills and values. By positively engaging young people, they aim to foster a sense of agency, leading to tangible behavioural changes and a desire for collective action.

It’s simple: A healthy Ocean is essential for all life on Earth. So, Ocean Generation supports young people to get educated and empowered to take action to protect Earth’s most important ecosystem. How? They translate complex Ocean Science into engaging content and practical tools and run skills development workshops and incubate innovation for 16 to 25-year-olds.

Ocean Academy

Ocean Generation’s “Ocean Academy” programme is for ages 5 to 16 year-olds, and comprises of workshops for KS1-KS4 in schools across the UK, as well as bespoke workshops and drop ins in youth groups and informal learning settings and a suite of free online resources for educators to use.
