Right to Rest

A new youth-led campaign aiming to support young carers to take a break when they need to.

The ‘Right To Rest’ campaign is youth-led and aims to support young carers to take a break when they need to.

The Young Carer and Young Adult Carer Advisory Groups are made up of young people across Scotland who advise Carers Trust Scotland on youth engagement work, take part in various training opportunities, lead on consultation activities for young carers and young adult carers to have their voices heard and raise awareness of the issues impacting young carers and young adult carers.

The Group have created a #RightToRest blog series where they write about their own experiences taking a break, to encourage their peers that it is okay to take time for themselves. They have also created postcards intended to be used by their peers, calling on Carer Leads to review their Short Breaks Services Statements to ensure these resources are youth friendly and accessible.
