The Open Justice Law Clinic Survey of Youth Work Provision in Scotland

The Open University is undertaking a desk-based study on current youth work provision in Scotland. As part of this, they have asked YouthLink Scotland to distribute a short survey on their behalf.  Any replies will go directly to their team of seven final-year legal students working on the project. They are looking at gaps and opportunities in the policy landscape and will report their findings in the spring.

The research will aim to identify:

• The current state of youth work provision in Scotland and whether there are any current gaps.
• What the impact of a right to youth work and/or strengthened CLD Regulations would have upon youth workers in Scotland.
• What legislative changes would be required to implement a right to youth work in Scotland. This should also be seen in the context of the recently announced review of Community Learning and Development in Scotland.
