Local Authority Youth Work Managers Network (LAYWM)

The LAYWM network provides managers responsible for youth work in a local authority the opportunity to influence and shape youth work at a national level.

Purpose

YouthLink Scotland facilitates the LAYWM group to provide managers responsible for youth work in a local authority the opportunity to influence and shape youth work at a national level, support local authorities to take forward youth work developments, enter into professional dialogue and use expertise to advise on emerging policy, practice and workforce developments.

Membership

Membership of this Network is open to Service Managers/Team Managers, or their deputy, with direct responsibility for the management and delivery of youth work services in a Local Authority area.

The meetings provide a forum for discussing issues affecting the sector, for receiving briefings on key national developments, influence policy, share information and undertake collaborative cross Scotland activity. In addition, meetings provide time for networking between colleagues and the opportunity to share good practice and learning between members.
