National Youth Work Awards 2026

Edward Obi - Diversity Bridge SCIO

Edward Obi founded Diversity Bridge SCIO with a clear goal: to open doors for young people who face barriers linked to discrimination, poverty and social exclusion. Under his leadership the organisation now supports over 120 young people through leadership, employability and creative media programmes.

Initiatives such as Future Voices teach young people radio production and broadcasting, while job placement programmes connect them with real employment opportunities.

Participants report increased confidence, stronger communication skills and greater belief in their potential. Through Edward’s leadership, young people move from uncertainty to ambition, gaining the skills and support they need to shape their futures.

Kelechi Raphael - Hope for Families

For many young people from migrant and minority backgrounds in Dundee, Hope For Families is the first place they feel truly understood. At the heart of that work is founder Kelechi Raphael, whose leadership has created a youth programme where young people feel safe to talk, build confidence and explore their identity.

Through the Adolescent Development Initiative, Kelechi provides mentoring, emotional support and life-skills development for young people facing social and economic challenges. Her youth work approach prioritises participation, cultural identity and positive decision-making.

Young people report stronger confidence, communication skills and a greater sense of belonging. By building trust with families and communities, Kelechi has created a programme where young people feel valued, supported and hopeful about their future.

Molly Geddes - Glasgow Girls Club

Molly Geddes knows the power of youth work because she experienced it herself. She first joined Glasgow Girls Club at 14 looking for support. Today she is Creative Director and a youth worker leading creative projects that help young women explore confidence, safety and relationships.

Her youth-led film Where We Stop, based on lived experience of domestic abuse in young relationships, has become an international award-winning prevention resource used across youth work, education and justice settings.

The campaign reached 6.5 million people, generating 22,000 engagements and 2,400 direct click-throughs to support services, with partners reporting increased disclosures. Through Molly’s leadership, young women gain creative skills while learning about consent, boundaries and healthy relationships.
