Hate Crime and Prejudiced Based Behaviours Training

This in-person session is an opportunity to learn about what prejudiced-based behaviours look like, the impact they can have and what to do when we encounter them as youth workers.  We hope to create an environment to be able to ask questions about best practice in different settings and encourage open discussion about the challenges this might entail.

The training aims to provide the opportunity to:

• raise awareness of prejudice-based behaviours and hate crime in education settings.
• increase confidence in identifying early signs of prejudice-based behaviours and hate crime.
• develop an understanding of what to do when prejudice-based behaviours and hate crime occur, including how to report them and support those affected.

This training is based on the Prejudiced-based behaviours and Hate Crime resource featured on the Education Scotland Inclusion, Wellbeing and Skills framework and was written by Education Scotland, YouthLink Scotland and RespectMe.

Recording your Professional Learning

Participating in this training can be recorded as 4 hours of Professional Learning time, contributing to the 35 hours per year (pro rata) required for membership of the CLD Standards Council, another professional body, or your own learning and development plan.
