Policy Convention: A Right to Youth Work - Exploring Current Policy Opportunities

Join us on Thursday 7 December for YouthLink Scotland’s Annual Online Policy Convention as we discuss the policy road map to securing a right to youth work for young people in Scotland.

A Right to Youth Work - Exploring Current Policy Opportunities

We are delighted that the Minister for Higher and Further Education, Graeme Dey MSP, will join us on Thursday, 7 December, for YouthLink Scotland’s Annual Online Policy Convention, as we discuss the right to critical education in times of political uncertainty.

Knowledge and understanding across civic society of the crucial impact of youth work as a critical educational practice are needed. The discussion is timely as Scottish Government and partners respond to the Withers Report and Hayward Review, and the Scottish Parliament takes on the Education Reform Bill in 2023.

This sector-wide engagement event will connect youth work practice with policy professionals and elected representatives from all political parties. We will consider the need to put in place statutory protections to ensure all young people have a right to youth work in the context of education reform, giving further strength to the #InvestInYouthWork campaign.

This event is free to YouthLink Scotland Members and £10.00 for non-members – early sign up is advised.
