The Foundation is one of the largest independent grant-makers in the UK. In 2022, they provided £36.2m in grant funding towards a wide range of work in support of the three main aims: to improve Our Natural World, secure A Fairer Future and nurture Creative, Confident Communities.They also have a £45m allocation to social investments and a £10m allocation to impact investments.

The Foundation wants to contribute to a socially just and anti-racist society, where people have their rights protected, as well as the opportunity to speak and be heard, and the freedom to express their creativity. And across all their work in A Fairer Future, they’re keen to support organisations led by the people they serve.

Working with others, they will contribute to three key impact goals by 2030:

  1. Improved systems, policy and practice.
  2. Organisations are strengthened to use their power to tackle systemic injustice and inequity.
  3. Organisations work together and build movements to tackle systemic injustice and inequity.

Creative, Confident Communities

Places where the local economy works better for the people who live there, where there is equality of access to arts and culture, and where communities are at the heart of change.
