The Robertson Trust - Big Change That Lasts Fund

The Big Change That Lasts Fund supports organisations working in Scotland to deliver long‑term, systemic change that prevents and reduces poverty and related trauma. The Trust is currently inviting applications that focus on delivering big change that lasts under their Financial Security theme. No deadline – apply any time.

Through their Big Change That Lasts Fund, The Robertson Trust expect grants to have a primary focus on one of the following activities:

Feasibility and development projects – Work to develop ideas with strong potential for change at scale.
Test and demonstration projects – Work to test and demonstrate new approaches to services that can reduce poverty and trauma in Scotland.
Advocacy, campaigning and influencing projects – Work to change policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours.
Research and policy projects focused on delivering change – While they’re not a research funder, the Trust will support research that is solutions-focused, applied, and clearly connected to action that delivers change.

Across all their work, The Robertson Trust are particularly interested to see proposals for projects working in a focused way with at least one of their priority population groups within low-income families and/or those at risk of poverty, which are:

Women, particularly those in part-time work and/or with caring responsibilities.
Formal or informal carers.
Parents, including lone parents.
People from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
Disabled people or those with a long-term health condition.
People with experience of the care system.
Larger families.

What level of funding you can apply for

Through the Big Change That Lasts Fund The Robertson Trust will ordinarily make grants for up to five years or less, and a total grant amount of between £20,000 and £500,000. Most of the grants they’ll make through this Fund will tend to be between £50K–£100K per year.
