WCIT’s purpose is to use the power of tech for impact through digital inclusion, education, charitable, and public engagement initiatives across the entire UK. Every year, it supports a variety of charities through its grant-making programme and by providing pro bono support to a multitude of organisations. The next round opens on 14th September and will close on 3rd November (or sooner if the cap of 50 is reached).
Makes grants to projects which fall under one of the four priority areas:
All the projects funded must make use of IT. They are more likely to fund projects which demonstrate an innovative use of IT, can be developed into a model for wider replication, are sustainable and focus on outcomes which can be formally reported on.
The WCIT also provide pro-bono IT support. If you require independent strategic level pro-bono help for your IT project, contact they Charity Coordinator on the email provided to discuss how they can help.
Registered charities, educational establishments or organisations with a formal not-for-profit constitution (such as a community interest company).
Applications for funding may be submitted at any time and are considered by the Charitable Operations Committee at one of its four meetings a year.
Applications for thr next funding round will open on Monday 14th September and close on 3rd November (or sooner if the cap of 50 is reached). It will reopen again every three months.
