What is the Youth Reuse and Sharing Grant?

It is a grant of up to £1000 for projects that involve young people aged between 16 to 25 years old, to introduce a more sustainable way of buying and using products through enabling shared access, providing reusable items, or finding new ways to repurpose unused items.

What is Reuse and Sharing?

• Reuse – when items are used again and again for the same purpose.
• Repurposing – when an item is turned into something completely different. It can also be mending and repairing an item to make it fit for purpose.
• Sharing libraries are set up to share items across your community. Source > borrow > return.

These keep items actively in use for as long as possible. They reduce the need for items to be produced, save items from going to landfill and can save you money.

Who is eligible to apply?

• Eligible organisations who support young people aged 16 to 25 years old can apply.
• The community group or organisation must be based in, and working in, Lanarkshire.
• Applications will only be accepted from non-profit-distributing groups with their own bank account.
