A Joint Statement on Prevention: Achieving the Urgent Action Required to Tackle Scotland's Health Inequalities Crisis

This statement, published by the Community Health Exchange (SCDC), VHS, The ALLIANCE, and the Edinburgh Community Health Forum recently is a response to major policies and frameworks published this year which set out prevention as a key approach to how public services should operate.

This statement has been jointly published by Edinburgh Community Health Forum, Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE), Scottish Community Development Centre (including CHEX), and Voluntary Health Scotland.

Their intended audience is decision makers at local and national levels, and stakeholders supporting policy implementation like Public Health Scotland.  The aim is to share their vision for prevention and recommendations for turning ambitious policy intent into action.

They wish to make clear, that this statement is not intended as a vehicle for influencing party political pledges ahead of the Scottish Parliament election next year.
