YouthLink Scotland is pleased to announce the launch of the refreshed National Youth Work Induction Checklist, a vital tool designed to support youth workers and volunteers with a clear, consistent approach to induction training across Scotland.

Developed in collaboration with the Youth Work Training and Workforce Development Forum, this updated checklist aims to set a benchmark for induction training, providing a minimum standard of training that youth work organisations can adapt to suit their setting and context.

What’s New in the Updated Checklist?

The refreshed checklist covers fundamental aspects of youth work, from safeguarding and child protection to youth participation, equality and diversity, and the planning cycle in youth work.

Each element has been carefully updated to reflect current standards and recommended practices, helping youth workers establish a solid foundation in key areas.

It’s designed to be accessible and adaptable, making it a valuable guide for everyone involved in youth work, whether they’re beginning their journey or simply looking to refresh their knowledge.
