FIRST STAGES – Programme for Young and Emerging Songwriters

Through the Youth Music Initiative funded by Creative Scotland Moniack Mhor will be running FIRST STAGES, a new programme for young and emerging songwriters in Scotland.

This free project will support 12 young people who have experienced barriers to their songwriting or musical paths and includes:

Workshops in Inverness, Belladrum, Glasgow and Edinburgh
Online masterclasses
Writing Week
Recording
Performing opportunities

Who is it for?

For anyone aged 16-25 (up to 30 if you have lived experience of the care system) living in Scotland who is interested in songwriting and experiences isolation or have less access to making songs. No musical knowledge, instrument or experience necessary, but if you have some that’s great as well!
