Generation Scotland is the largest family health study in Scotland with over 25,000 volunteers who have signed up to help scientists and researchers find out more about health and wellbeing and develop potentially life saving cures.

They are part of the University of Edinburgh and ensure all of their research is ethical and anonymous. Anyone over the age of 12 can join and are currently inviting more young people and families to join their studies so that we can all learn more about the health and well-being of young people in Scotland.

Generation Scotland future health competition

Generation Scotland are looking for young people to get creative and think about what health could look like in the future in Scotland if money was not an issue and if anything was possible.

Young people can let their imagination run wild using one of the following three themes:

  1.  What does social interaction mean to you? (linked to their loneliness study)
  2.  If you had a magic wand what would you change about health?
  3.  Why is it important to have young people included in health research?

Young people are encouraged to to be as creative as they can – design a poster, write a poem, paint, collage, Instagram reel, animations, infographic or a short 30 second video. The competition has two categories: 12-15 year olds and 16-19 year olds.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on 29th September.
