Tennis Scotland are aiming to help young people in underserved communities across Scotland to get active and experience the physical, social and mental benefits of tennis – this is the LTA SERVES programme.
This industry leading FREE sport for development programme – aimed at children and young people aged 4-18 – takes tennis into the heart of local communities to those who may never have had the opportunity to play before, or thought the sport was for them. It’s all about having fun with friends, keeping mentally and physically fit all the while learning new skills beyond the tennis court. Through the power of tennis, Tennis Scotland want to help more children and young people build their self-confidence, community cohesion and knowledge around health and wellbeing.
The programme has so far empowered and equipped over 1500 Tennis Activators throughout Britain. It offers volunteers, leaders and youth workers the training, skills and equipment they need to run fun and engaging tennis sessions for children and young people in their communities.
No court, no problem – the LTA SERVES programme has been created so sessions can be delivered in community centres, youth clubs, faith venues and other places!
