Young people are increasingly concerned that LGBTQ+ rights are regressing – both in Scotland, and on a global scale. This manifesto reflects the views and experiences of LGBTQ+ young people across Scotland. It details what matters most to them during the expected parliamentary terms of 2026-2031.
This Manifesto will hopefully give you an understanding of LGBTQ+ young people’s visions for the future, and how you may be able to play a part in that. Whilst it is aimed at MSPs, the responsibility to build a future in which LGBTQ+ young people flourish and thrive is on all of our shoulders.

In an often hostile, and ever-changing political environment, LGBTQ+ people have always needed safe spaces to be themselves, find community, and speak truth to power. Ahead of the Holyrood elections, this is particularly true for LGBTQ+ young people. LGBT Youth Scotland is proud to be one such space.
