We’re excited to announce the launch of our refreshed Nae Danger Active Bystander Package – a practical, youth-led resource designed to help practitioners support young people in taking safe, confident action when they witness harm or risk in their communities.
This updated package builds on direct feedback from young people and reflects a growing need to equip them with clear strategies to challenge violence and weapon carrying in ways that are realistic, safe and age-appropriate to them.
The Nae Danger Active Bystander Package includes:
We’ve already delivered several successful online training sessions to introduce the new resources and now we’re getting ready to take the next step.
In partnership with St Andrew’s First Aid, we’ll soon be rolling out face-to-face training to help practitioners confidently deliver the package in their own settings. Training will be available in:
These sessions will introduce the full package, model key activities and explore how to apply the STEPS approach (Step Up, Tell an Adult, Evidence, Pull Attention Away, Support Later) in real-life scenarios.
Importantly, each training day will also include a first aid component led by St Andrew’s First Aid – recognising that while prevention is our goal, young people and practitioners should also feel prepared to respond if harm does occur. This added element ensures a well-rounded approach to safety, intervention and support.
Whether you’re new to active bystander work or just looking for a refresher, this training offers a great opportunity to build confidence and connect with other practitioners across your region. Stay tuned for training dates and booking details – coming soon via our newsletter and social media.
