National Library of Scotland Welcome Sessions

A series of free bookable visits to the National Library of Scotland for community groups. The first session looks at women and photography (21st January from 2pm-4pm).

Join National Library of Scotland curators to view original 19th and early 20th century photographs and learn about the women who created them. The Library’s archives hold many photographs taken by women. From travellers to mountainers to nurses, the images preserved here can be explored to shed light on the world of the past and the women who inhabited it.

This relaxed and welcoming session is part of a monthly programme of themes events for community groups. Each workshop provides an introduction to the collections and services available at the National Library, and to using archives for learning, creativity, confidence building and wellbeing.

For more information about the programme, or to book a place for your group, please contact Beverley Casebow, Learning & Outreach Officer.
