The Scottish Government has published national guidance to support schools and local authorities in their use of Pupil Equity Funding (PEF) and Strategic Equity Funding (SEF), as part of the Scottish Attainment Challenge.
The PEF Guidance highlights the crucial role of partnerships with bodies such as youth work to tackle the poverty-related attainment gap. It acknowledges that alongside schools, youth work improves the wellbeing, readiness to learn and educational outcomes of children and young people.
YouthLink Scotland has a range of support available for schools as part of their Scottish Attainment Challenge national programme. This includes advice on using PEF to improve attainment and achievement through youth work, resources to measure impact and case studies highlighting the impact of effective youth work and school partnerships.
