Scottish Youth Parliament: Young People’s Online Lives Research

SYP is currently exploring young people’s views and experiences of screen time and online life, and the impact this has on their mental health and wellbeing. To help them make sure young people’s voices are heard by key decision-makers, please share their survey with young people aged 12-25 in your community and encourage them to fill it in by 9am on Friday 18th September.

The findings from this research will be published in a report in October 2026. The report and recommendations will inform the Scottish Government’s policy work relating to young people’s online lives and their wellbeing, as well as SYP’s Mind Yer Time project and campaigning on mental health, digital and information literacy, online safety, and the UK social media ban.
