We are saddened to share the news of the recent passing of Simon Jaquet, former Chief Executive of YouthLink Scotland.
We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Simon Jaquet. Simon was the first CEO of Fast Forward and there is a lovely tribute to him from Allie Cherry-Byrnes, the current CEO of Fast Forward.
Simon had many years of experience in policy and practice work with young people through youth work, schools, and volunteering (in Scotland, France, Germany, and Botswana). He was a former board member of Fischy Music and the Rock Trust.
He was committed to helping public and third sector organisations better understand the needs and aspirations of young people. Before Fast Forward he worked for Canongate Youth Project. He was CEO of YouthLink Scotland in its new form from 2002, in a challenging period following the breakup of Community Learning Scotland. Simon was also heavily involved in the Edinburgh Youth Work Consortium and in providing research and consultancy advice.
Our thoughts are with Simon’s family & friends at this time.
