This Framework sets out Scottish Government’s vision to prevent violence across Scotland, and when it does occur, to reduce its harm. It is supported by an evidence supplement, spotlights some cross government work and includes priority aims and an Action Plan, outlining the initial activities going forward.
The development of this Framework has been informed by engagement with various partner organisations and existing research and evidence on violence. It also draws on official national statistics on police recorded violent crime, hospital admissions data and the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey findings, which are the main measures by which gauge levels of violence in Scotland.
