Young People and Work: Interim Report

Nearly one million young people aged 16 to 24 in the United Kingdom are not in education, employment or training. One in 8 young people. And rising. Behind the statistics lie individual lives: aspirations thwarted, opportunities lost, futures placed on hold. This report is an independent review of the increase in the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions commissioned the Rt Hon Alan Milburn to author a report into Young People and Work. The report will be taken forward in 2 distinct phases:
