The 30th Annual General Meeting of YouthLink Scotland will be held on Wednesday 26th November at 4:30pm Caledonian Exchange, 19A Canning Street, Edinburgh EH3 8EG.
The AGM will be preceded at 3.30pm by an input from Dr Emma Davidson, Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at University of Edinburgh on Beyond safe spaces: youth work’s role in shaping brave conversations on masculinities starting at 3:30pm.
In this presentation, Emma will reflect on her doctoral research (completed in 2013), recent studies on the impact of youth work, and YouthLink Scotland’s Imagine a Man project. Together, these strands invite us to consider how social, political and economic changes have shaped masculinities in Scotland over time, both positively and negatively. We will explore alternative approaches to supporting young men that emphasise healthy, caring, and positive forms of masculine expression, and highlight the crucial role of youth work in creating brave spaces for young men to grow, reflect, and connect.
Your attendance would mean a lot to us but if you can’t join the AGM in person, there will be an online Zoom option available. Papers have been issued to members.
