The Good Childhood Report
This year’s Good Childhood Report from The Children's Society reveals that too many young people are unhappy with their lives. 11% of the children and young people who completed our survey in 2024 had low wellbeing. The report also reveals that the UK’s 15-year-olds had the lowest average life satisfaction in Europe.

No Under 18s in Young Offenders Institutions
All under 18s who were previously detained in YOI Polmont have now been moved into secure care settings. New regulations came into force on 28th August and as of that date, there will be no new admissions of children under 18 to YOIs.
