Turning the Tide - Empowering Young People for Marine Advocacy
Running from January to April 2026, TTT equips young people aged 16 to 25 with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to have a say in how our seas are managed. This free online programme includes online taught modules, mentoring, group work and a like-minded online community. Apply by 5th January.

Bill Stevenson Appointed as Interim Chairperson
At our AGM on 26th November, Bill Stevenson was appointed as Interim Chairperson replacing Angela Leitch CBE who stepped down after three years as our Chair. Bill will hold the role of Interim Chair as we seek a new chairperson for YouthLink Scotland. A sub-group of the Board is considering the recruitment process for that.

State of the Nation: Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Scotland
The State of the Nation is the Scottish Human Rights Commission’s annual snapshot of how human rights are being realised across Scotland. The 2025 report focuses on economic, social and cultural rights, the rights that ensure people can live a dignified life, like the rights to adequate housing, health, social security, food, and fair working conditions.

Doing Intersectionality ‘in Justice’: Exploring Intersectional Experiences of Policing with Children and Front-line Police Officers in Scotland
Could you help a project co-designed between a research team at the University of Strathclyde and a group of young people who are interested in young people’s experiences and perceptions of policing? They're also interested in what things shape young people's interactions with the police, this could be things like age, gender, race, etc.

Children, Violence and Vulnerability 2025
The Youth Endowment Fund surveyed nearly 11,000 teenage children aged 13-17 in England and Wales this year about their experiences of violence. This first report looks at the scale of violence: how many children are affected, how often it happens, the different forms it takes — including online violence and online conversations about harming others — and why some young people become involved.

CYCJ in collaboration with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation have created a new eLearning module on Digital Safeguarding in Practice, to provide a greater awareness of the risks present for children using digital technology. This free online course takes approximately four hours.

Young People Help Shape Children’s Rights Scheme
Young Scot has published a new report highlighting how children and young people have helped shape the draft Children’s Rights Scheme, a key part of the Scottish Government’s work to deliver on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024.

YouthLink Scotland thanks Angela Leitch CBE as she reaches the end of her term as Chair
Angela Leitch CBE has announced today that she will step down as Chair of YouthLink Scotland as she approaches the end of her three-year term of office. Angela brought to YouthLink Scotland a wealth of leadership experience gained over more than two decades in senior public service roles.

Google is running a funded programme supported by Getech who are a premier Google partner, to help UK charities and local authorities tackle digital exclusion and prevent e-waste. With Windows 10 support ending in 2025, our goal is to help you repurpose those devices into secure, easy-to-manage ChromeOS laptops for your service users, staff, or volunteers.

Skills Development Scotland - Youth Voice Research
Skills Development Scotland has recently undertaken research designed to hear the views of young people in secondary school.  Questions focused on young people's views on careers education and advice, and their future career aspirations. The research aims to inform policy, enhance careers services, and support young people to acquire the skills, guidance, and opportunities needed to achieve their career goals.
