Clarifying the Law on Religious Observance at School
Schools will now need to inform pupils when a request is made by a parent or carer to withdraw them from religious observance and to consider any objection the young person may have, under legislation backed by MSPs.

Tackling Misogyny
The Scottish Government has launched a new advertising campaign urging boys and young men against sharing misogynistic content online. The advert warns that sexist content is “never harmless” and that it affects girls in real life, including ones you know. The campaign runs from 16th February to 23rd March across digital, audio, outdoor and social media channels.

Hate Crimes Recorded by the Police in Scotland 2024-25
The first annual report on hate crime recorded by the police, under Section 15 of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021. This includes information on the number and type of hate crimes recorded by the police, as well as victim and perpetrator characteristics and prejudice shown.
