Cost of Living Research: What is it Like to Live in Scotland as a Disabled Person in 2026?
This second annual cost-of-living audit by Disability Equality Scotland reflects the ongoing financial challenges that disabled people face in Scotland every single day of their lives. The report findings show the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on the decisions disabled people are having to make to afford their bills, use the services they need and to maintain their personal independence.

The Online Safety Debate Needs Youth Work at Its Heart
Last Friday (22nd May), at The Citadel in Leith, there was a conversation that felt both urgent and hopeful. Young people, youth workers, parents and grandparents gathered with Kanishka Narayan MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for AI and Online Safety) to talk honestly about growing up online - the pressures, possibilities and harms that increasingly shape young people’s lives.

Into Film Filmmaking Competition
Into Film is currently working with Universal Pictures to develop a new education resource to support the exciting release of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, in cinemas on 17th July. The resource and competition will go live on 4th June and is aimed at young people aged over 15 years.

Three Quarters of Children Would Support ‘Film Style’ Age Ratings on Social Media as NSPCC Demands Government Action
New NSPCC polling from YouGov shows that 74% of 11–15-year-olds would support age ratings on social media apps, similar to those used for movies and video games. Adults overwhelmingly agree, a second NSPCC poll by Savanta revealed 92% supporting age-based classification of platforms based on what you can do and see on them.

YouthLink Scotland was commissioned by Public Health Scotland and funded by Scottish Government to explore why some young people are missing from vaccine services. Over 800 young people and 15 parents and guardians across Scotland shared their views.

Suicide Prevention Scotland Youth Advisory Group
Suicide Prevention Scotland, supported by Children in Scotland and the University of Edinburgh, are looking for new members to join the Youth Advisory Group. The group is for young people aged 16-24 who have tried to take their own life, or who have had suicidal thoughts. It is also for people who have had a bereavement by suicide, this could be someone in their family or someone else who is close to them. Applications are being accepted until the end of May.
